It is custom for the designers to exhibit their design in front of public during fashion shows. Fashion shows, a parade of models wearing the collections of their designers. It is an opportunity for both the designers and the cloth makers to advance a step forward. It can be regarded as a get together of the two parts of fashion world. The latest trends are being updated in these shows to the people. It does have some basic rules to be followed by the models. Not only the dresses that are exhibited but also the fashion accessories like handbag, spectacles, hairstyles and makeup. The editors of the fashion magazines extract some best from these shows for their readers. Copying of the patterns being exhibited is punishable under laws although one can copy the silhouette. Fashion shows, the recently developed field in clothing, has paved way for money to many in this short time.

FASHION AND FILM

Film is an important medium to make the recent trends in fashion world reach to the public. It is also being given prime importance in the films. It is also encouraged by distributing awards such as Oscars to the best designers which is really a good recognition for the designers. It is similar to that of a fashion show but not so exactly because the attire is the only focus in here. In films, it only forms a part but is very effective than such kind of shows. Audrey Hepburn, one the premiers in exhibiting the fashion through films especially in My Fair Lady, the hat had made a great impact in the fashion world. The different timeline stories that are produced today inculcate the then fashion and the designers are very accurate in choosing the costume as it may affect the whole essence of such films.”The Devil wears Prada” is the recent that exhibit the importance of fashion industry after a long time.

RELIGIOUS OUTFIT

The religious apparel in the west broadly classifies into Judaism and Christianity. The early Judaism wore the Levitical garments whereas the priest heading them robed with mantle, ephod and a headdress. The mantle was a sleeveless purple dress with bells with different colors at the lower part of it. But the later part of Judaism used Phylacteries in respect to their commandment. In Roman catholic Chasuble is the primary Eucharistic wear that is been in practice from 9th century. Embroidery has been the major part for the Christians which attained its huge development in 14th century. The work was made with ornaments like gold, silver and silk threads. The gowns are considered to be the primary wear when comes to a gathering or any special occasion in a church. The needle works on the vestment had been gradually displaced by the ornamental work in the 19th century. Nowadays the church apparel includes cassocks, dalmatics, Humeral veils and more.

APPAREL TYPES

The basic type in clothing is the dresses which covers the body of human. Apart from the dresses the types include trousers and tops. Tops is usually referred for women which serves the purpose of covering the upper part of the body while for men shirt is the perfect way to express. The major importance in fashion industry is given to the tops because it is the primary wear that people look at. Trousers are employed to cover the lower part of the body. This is also referred to as pants in some countries. Apart from these basic types the inner wears also forms an integral part in all types of clothing. The inner wear includes the skin tight garment which is held by elastic tension. PROCESS FROM CLOTH TO COSTUME

Tailoring is an art which has routed to the development in the fashion world. The basics of tailoring along with a little innovation make a successful designer. This is a different branch apart from the processing of textiles. It has been a basic occupation of many people in a developing country and a main source of additional income. Considering it as a hobby, many people try for themselves a different combination of stitches. Many sewing tools are available for various types of tailoring. Tailoring techniques involves many rules in order to prevent the garment from being wasted. Attaching buttons to the fabric has also has certain concerns although nowadays it is fashion that buttons are omitted. The development in the technology has given rise to use of ultrasonic waves to the edges by pressurizing it so that the imperfection in the manmade stitching is avoided.

PROCESS FROM COTTON TO CLOTH

Various stages of textile processing include cotton extraction, threading or knitting, spinning, weaving, dyeing, textile processing and garment stitching. The initial stage is the development of cotton crops which is done as a major plantation industry. Ginning is the process to remove the cotton from cotton seed. Following it is the yarn preparation which branches to lot of units such as blending, combing, fiber straightening. Spinning accounts for the strength wherein the yarn is being spun with gas treatments to cut off the small projecting yarns in order to make the yarn smoother. The processed yarns are dyed to various colors by special chemical treatments and dried. The dyed yarns are then sent to weaving unit which includes various options such as power looms, auto looms and so on. Beaming is an intermediate process to make the weaving comfortable. Now the impurities on the product has to be removed which is enhanced by a method called desizing and followed by several methods. Now the textile is ready for garments.
